Design Wall Monday: May 7, 2012

This week I knocked most of my monthly sew-along and swap blocks off the to-do list for the month of May.  Here are all the blocks I made:

For the Blogger's BOM:

For the Hello Sun BOM:

For the Promises & Borders BOM:

and for the Vintage Miniature Sewing Machine BOM.

Oh yes, and I almost forgot the swap block I made for my partner in the Block Swap Adventure.

Also, I finished top-stitching all the butterflies for the Butterfly Garden doll quilt I'm working on.

My biggest goals for this week are to quilt the Butterfly Garden doll quilt, and to finish up the Oregon State stadium blanket I'm making for Erik and Mae.  I'll be posting a tutorial about how to make a tidy easy-to-carry package out of this quilt.  Watch for it if you're interested.  (Notice I'm making the huge assumption that my idea will actually work.)  And then I have a few more monthly incremental projects I'd like to make some progress on.

Wow - you were busy this weekend! I love your Blogger's BOM colors! I'm still plugging along on the Promises & Borders block for April. I have a sit-n-sew today with friends and hope to finish it up there :*)

That is a lot of embroidery to do! I'm impressed!

The verse from Romans is one of my favorite verses - Nothing can separate us from God's love. Nothing.

I always enjoy looking at your embroidery pieces!! That P&B block I think will be my favorite of the series. You've framed it out nicely! :)

lots of blocks being done here! Great job. And, thank you for turning off your verification. I turned mine off a while ago and I haven't really had any spam. (knock on wood!)

I got my first BOM kit for the Vintage Sewing Machine. Let me ask a question since this is my first BOM. What is the duponi silk for? Plus, is the grayish fabric used only for the back of the material with the machine imprint on it? I couldn't find anything in the directions explaining this. it being my first, I have lots of questions.

I'm really impressed with all you got done. I had to swear off BOMs this year so I could figure out how to find time to finish last years. And it's May already. Keep up the good work.

What a lot of lovely stitching for last week! I love the butterfly garden quiltlet, and that first block you did with the stripes in part of the triangles really seems to move.
