Foto Finish: The Way I See It

The optional theme for this week's Foto Finish is "The Way I See It".  Here's my entry:

A few years back, I had to have surgery on my neck . . . a cervical discectomy and fusion.  They put a metal plate in my neck.  I.  Was.  Petrified.  There was no choice, however, because I was experiencing a lot of pain in my shoulders and my legs, and it had taken a long time and a lot of false starts to get the correct diagnosis.  Since I'm quilting, walking, traveling, typing, etc., that should be your clue that the surgery was a success.  Nevertheless, it was a scary thing to anticipate.  I spent the day before my surgery keeping myself calm by walking in the woods with George and taking pictures looking up at the leaves in the trees.  This image was one of those.

Next week's Foto Finish will be the last Saturday before February's leap day.  So I'm making the optional theme:  Leap  Remember, you can interpret the theme any way you like . . . or you can forget the theme altogether and post whatever you want.

Now I'm ready to see how you saw it.  Here's Mr. Linky:

Beautiful image - I love taking photos like this of leaves. I know how hard it is to take that final step to have surgery. I waited 8 years before deciding to have my knee surgery.

Beautiful image. I'm ready for a little sun and warmth!

I'd be happy if I never have to have another surgery in my life. It's great what they can do now to make life better, but any surgery has risks. Being scared of those risks makes sense to me.

I heard a long time ago that if you're stressed, look to the sky through trees, the lacy look of the leaves will sooth you. Beautiful.

Barbara, that is a beautiful, beautiful shot. I love the sun-kissed brighter leaves up close with the darker expanse of leaves in the background. Good eye on this one! :)

I am glad you are doing well now, any surgery is scary and something that effects our back and nerves is scarier.

My photo was taken at Higgins Lake, (the 7th most beautiful lake in the world) It is crystal clear with lots of pretty stones in the water and as it was fall there are also leaves. I love going there, it is only 5 minutes from my home.
