It's hard to believe this is the last February design wall. We'll be into March this week already!
It seems like I did a lot of sewing this week, but the projects I worked on were rather time-consuming. There doesn't seem to be a lot to show for it. For one thing, I've spent a lot of time making a hanging sleeve and sewing it onto the Checkerboard Flowers quilt. Also, I made a label for the same quilt that still needs to be sewn on. All of this is in preparation for shipping it off to the International Quilt Festival in Ireland next week. I'll have to come up with a box large enough.
Aside from that, I finished up the next set of Just Takes 2 blocks, and these took two full days to complete.
The next set will be out on Wednesday, and I'm working hard to keep up.
The only other thing I have to show for my week of sewing is the doll quilt I made for my friend Lisa's granddaughter, Irish. I still need to add some shamrock appliques to this one. I was going to put them in the corners, but then realized I hadn't left myself enough room. I've decided to put them into the four white blocks within the main body of the quilt. I think it will help tie the whole thing together better too.
Next week, I need to do the top-stitching on the November Home is Where the Heart is block so that I can keep that moving toward completion. Also, I want to start on the embroidery for the next Mr. Bear block and make some swap blocks. That should keep me busy for a while.

Your blocks are beautiful! Just love the little quilt you are making for Irish.
I also like the quilt for Irish and agree with you on placement of the shamrocks. Have a great week.
The shamrocks will work perfectly in the white areas! Sometimes when we are the most busy, we have the least to actually show for it. Not sure how that happens, but it does =^..^=
You're doing a great job on your JTT blocks. I'm finished with Promises & Borders #2 and waiting for the next one. Since I'm enjoying the stitching so much, I started a new stitchery to work on when I'm waiting for the next P&B! What a glutton I am!
Absolutely beautiful (as usual. lol) I want to come play...LOL
ooooo, Lovely! I love "red and white only" quilts ;)

Those red and white blocks are gorgeous...I thought for a minute you had made George or Gracie their own little quiltie. :) The shamrocks will make that awesome!
Very nice work! I love the pink and green together.
Irish...what a sweet name. :) Her quilt is very cute too.

Great red and white blocks!
Your Just Takes 2 is looking wonderful. I like the red you chose. I have the red, didn't find a white I like yet, and am thinking that I won't start the blocks until the civil war quilts are put together. It's fine if I run over into 2013. Otherwise, what would I work on as a UFO next year? Ha, ha, ha!
Your Just Takes Two blocks in red and white are great. I really enjoy seeing all the different patterns. And the little Irish quilt is very cute. Looking forward to seeing the applique.
What cute fabric you framed the Irish Chain quilt with.
