Delightfully Postal

Yesterday I had to go to the grocery store, and I stopped to pick-up the mail before arriving home to put away my sacks and sacks and sacks of groceries.  Imagine how much it lifted my spirits to find two wonderful surprises inside.

First, I won 2nd prize in the Triple Whammy Giveaway over at Cheryl's Teapots2Quilting.  Cheryl sent me this precious thread catcher made by her own talented hands:

As I told Cheryl, my sewing room is in the basement, but I like to do my hand work upstairs in the living room next to the window for the good light.  When I’m sewing a binding, which I do fairly regularly, I need my needle, my needle threader, a thimble, a bobbin wound with the thread I’m using, my thread snips, and a little box of Thread Heaven.  This will hold all of those items perfectly so that I won't have to cart my clunky sewing box upstairs with me.

Thank you, Cheryl, for this thoughtful prize.

And THEN, as if that weren't enough, I was blown away with surprise at receiving the Tessellating Tabbies pattern by Jinny Beyer from Linda over at Stray Stitches.

Linda sent this to me purely out of the generosity of her heart and spirit.  She said it made her think of me, and that was her only reason for sending it.  Wow.  I am touched to the very core.  Thank you so much, Linda, for your thoughtful gift.  I love it.  I'm already plotting what fabrics to use.  I see another NewFO in my future.

How wonderful! Isn't it so nice to have such great friends in blog world? You will enjoy both gifts for sure! The Tassellating Tabbies reminds me of an Amish quilt in all those deep solids. Jenny sure knows her colors!
