Traveling Stash Ready to Move On

Yesterday the Traveling Stash arrived at my home.  Thank you, Linda!  It was thrilling, after months of yearning, to have the Traveling Stash in my hot little hands.  What a lot of fun it was to look at all the goodies in that rather large and heavy box!

Here's what I took removed:

Some Christmas fabric, some polka dots (because I love polka dots), a beautiful colorful piece that blends well with a fat quarter bundle I won recently, a homespun cotton fat quarter bundle, a pattern for a changing pad (I hope to have a grandchild someday who can use it), and a nice white marking pencil.

Here's what I added:

Some fabrics that have languished in my stash long enough, a pattern for an applique baby quilt, and a seam ripper because, honestly, I have no use for such a tool.  Rip seams?  Moi?

So would you like to win the traveling stash?  It's a lot of fun!  Of course there are rules:

1. You must have an active blog.
2. You may take whatever you want from the stash but you must replenish the box
3. You agree to host a giveaway on your blog and send the Traveling Stash on to the winner.
4. U.S. friends only please due to the shipping costs.

If that all sounds good to you, then leave me a comment telling me what you like to do to ring in the New Year.  (I'm so old I'm usually in bed asleep by midnight.)

I'll leave this open until New Year's Day, then I'll choose a winner at random.  Winner will be notified no later than Monday, January 2nd, 2012.  Good luck!

Yeah, we're at that age, too. Watch TV in the evening, and toddle off to beddy-bye, thinking "It must be midnight somewhere!" Would love to have the traveling stash come here :-)

I would love to host the traveling stash. On New Years Eve, we like to stay home and watch television or read. When we were in Hawaii, all of our neighbors celebrated by setting of thousands of firecrackers. There was no use trying to sleep through it, so we lit ours as well. Back in Washington state, I think we will probably be asleep well before midnight.

I want to get the traveling stash. I have lots of things to put in it. On NYE we watch TV and go to bed before midnight! The neighbors set off fireworks so we do know when midnight is.

I would like to fall to sleep in the chair next to my husband has he surfs from channel to channel on the tv. Then he'll get to the part where the ball is about to drop... he will wake me up, kiss, have one slow dance, and then go to bed. Last year it was kinda funny... He didn't wake me up in time so we had to "rewind" the ball dropping on TIVO and "re-enact" the event. LOL.

I would love for the traveling stash to come to my house in Ohio!

I would love to spend New Year's with loved ones, but I am a 16 hour drive from home and that will be impossible.

Do you believe that what you are doing at the stroke of midnight for the new year dictates what you do for the rest of the year?

I would love to find the traveling stash at the end of my dirt road...well, muddy, snowy road as of now. :) New Year's Eve is DH's birthday and we'll be spedning it at home with a Prime Rib Supper. Our Marine son heads back to Californa on New Year's Day so we'll be soaking in time with just the 4 of us.

I would love for the Traveling Stash to return to California. We will be ringing in the new year by having dinner delivered and then watching a movie. I'm sure we will be in bed before midnight but will be rudely awakened by fireworks and gunshots. Thanks for the opportunity to enter! Happy New Year to you Barbara!!!

Hi Barbara - this isn't an entry for the travelling stash but a question!! The fabric you took out(multi colours on a white background) does it have a selvedge? or do you know what it is? I found a FQ at my local fabric shop recently but I can't find out what it is!

It may sound sad but I'm planning to spend the evening at home, alone with the 3 pussycats, quilting. The local butcher shop has a special on lobster tails and I was given a gift card for their shop - might treat myself. I used to volunteer at a "last night" event but the weather was always lousy for the drive and I was so tired at the end that I fired myself this year!!!

we are old fuddy-duddys and never are usually up that late! I can see the ball drop in New York and it's 11pm my time, then I go to bed :) very romantic!

I love the idea of the stash box moving around the country - what fun!
Put my name in the hat, ok?

We usually have a glass of champagne (only one for me because it knocks me out). If any of our local markets have lobster on sale at a good price, we treat ourselves. Some years, I actually manage to watch the ball drop, most years I am sound asleep.
Please send the traveling stash to my house. I'll treat it like visiting royalty. Also, I could use a seam ripper.

I would love this box to come visit me. I don't do much, watch the activities on TV while usually working on a mystery quilt that someone has going on-line.

I very seldom ring in the new year anymore. I'm usually in bed before midnight.

This year I plan on staying in the sewing room on New Year's Day. I'm kicking off my year of the UFO. I'm hoping to finish up all the projects that I started in the last couple years but never seemed to finish.

I would love to host the traveling stash! I have been following this F.O.R.E.V.E.R. :o) I can't remember a year when I missed watching the ball drop in Times Square. 45 more minutes! ;o)
