Foto Finish: Cold

This week's theme is "Cold".  Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

This was a particularly heavy snowfall we had a couple of years ago, which was followed within a few days by an ice storm.  The city definitely ground to a halt that year, and it took weeks for the weather to warm up.  We couldn't get in and out of our driveway because of a particularly steep hill we have to negotiate.  With ice, it's impossible.  Mike managed to get ALL of our vehicles stuck, including our Jeep, our 4-wheel drive pickup truck, the tractor and the ATV's.  George knew what to do.  Curl up by the fire and take a long winter's nap.

For next week's theme, I'm going with:  Holiday Decor
Now I'm ready for your cold images.  Here's Mr. Linky:

Looks like quite a winter wonderland. I love to look at the snow, but I hate it if we have to get out in it.

George is one smart cat! I hope you do not have another storm like that this year. Its snowing here and the wind has been so strong it flipped two semi trailers on the highway yesterday. Not too bad in the city though - lots of branches, some people lost shingles, but that I think was the worst of it.

I'm with George. I enjoy winter best from inside.

Brrr...I linked my October post on a surprise we had when on vacation. It was hubby's first snowstorm.

I linked to a picture taken on December 27 of last year. We had a snowstorm on December 26 that turned into a blizzard and left us with nearly 18 inches of snow. I took this shot of my windowboxes, decorated for Christmas with greens and lights, covered with snow - even though they are well under the eaves of my house. I took it early in the morning, after arriving home from working the night shift! Thank heavens for 4-wheel drive!

I took this picture on New year's Day in 2009 after we had spent the previous evening with good friends to celebrate. This was their pool. Sadly they split up last year and we have lost a good couple that we spent time travelling with. Some friends only work as a couple.
