2011 UFO Summary

Update:  Originally, I said I was linking up to Judy's blog at Patchwork Times to show you my progress in the 2011 UFO Challenge.  Then I realized that Judy's link was to sign up for the 2012 UFO Challenge.  Sadly, I won't be able to participate next year because I finished all of my UFO's in 2011.  I have an idea, however.  Stay tuned for my post about my idea for a NewFO Challenge in 2012!

I started my year with a plan to finish two stars and one stitchery per month, which would have led me to finish the Winter Wonderland quilt by the end of the year.  I got so caught up by it that I managed to complete the entire top by the end of August, and the quilting and binding were finished by November.  So that quilt is:

Finished!

I haven't been quilting long enough to have a lot of UFO's stacked up, but I did have four months left in the year to finish the four UFO's I had.  So, I changed my pledge to finish one quilt per month.  And how did I do with that?

September:  Let Sleeping Cats Lie

Finished!

October:  Sunshine on My Shoulders (from Judy's Peaches and Dreams pattern)

Top and Back are complete!  Needs Quilting and Binding (when I get some $$$).

November:  Checkerboard Flowers

Top is Complete!  Needs back, quilting and binding (see $$$ comment above).

December:  Home is Where the Heart Is

Blocks are Finished!  Needs back, borders, quilting and binding.

This isn't my quilt . . . it's the picture from the pattern.  With my sewing machine in the shop and my resolve waning, this one probably won't get finished until January.  Still, I'm pretty happy with what I've accomplished for the year, and I'll be starting the New Year with all new projects!

Wow Barbara! I am amazed at how much you accomplished this year!!! And those are not simple quilts either. Pat yourself on the shoulder girlfriend - you deserve it!!!!

And a "way to go" to Judy for hosting the UFO challenge! I've been following along but did not join in this year. I definitely plan to in 2012!!!!
