How do you spell relief? All the pieces are in place now. I still need to do the top-stitching, which will take me a day or two, I imagine. That will help define the pieces and give them some texture. After that, I'll need to make about a zillion little two patch units for the checkerboard border. Then I'll be ready to assemble the blocks, and that will require constructing a checkerboard sashing. Lots of work left to do on this, but the part I was dreading is all finished. I'm so happy about that.
Gracie was my excellent helper. She kept the pattern from levitating.

It took me a minute to get the levitating comment - then I had to chuckle - what is it about cats and paper anyway? I so admire other people's applique pieces and this bright floral is so very pretty. Can't believe you are done already. I know I saw the pics of you starting just a couple of days ago.
