Macro Monday

We drove out to wine country (about five miles down the road) last week.  Usually the wineries are open daily, but on this day, we found a few of them closed.  The drive was slow because of all the farm equipment (translation:  grape-harvesting equipment) on the road.  The first frost was predicted for that night and the growers were scrambling to get their grapes harvested.  Grapes are ordinarily harvested a month earlier than this, but our wet spring and cool summer have meant they've been left on the vine as long as possible to develop a higher sugar content.

These are pinot noir grapes, which (in my humble opinion) are what Oregon does best.  I ate one of these after snapping this image.  It was sweet and good.  Looking forward to drinking it in a few years.

Great shot. Our dry hot weather made my wild grapes just wither on the vine.

Beautiful shot of the Grapes. I live in the heart of "Wine" country too but on the "other" side of the state.
