Design Wall Monday--September 19, 2011

There are several projects on my design wall today.  I finished the eighth of nine blocks for my "Let Sleeping Cats Lie" quilt.

My goal is to finish up the ninth block over the coming week, and then start sewing the quilt together.

Next, I put the borders and attached quilt squares to the stitchery for the "A Day in the Life of Mr. Bear" quilt.

And I got a good start on the next stitchery.

I think it's funny how the embroidery makes the scene "materialize" while the unfinished part appears as a ghostly apparition.  I'm making good progress on this, and if I keep at it, it should be finished by next week.

For my bee swap partner, I made this leaf block.  She requested something related to Autumn, and so this is what I came up with.

Finally, for another Christmas swap I'm involved in, I made this wall-hanging for my swap partner.  I'm still planning to put some crystals on the tree to look like ornaments.  Otherwise, this one is quilted, bound, and ready for mailing.

Wish me luck.  I'm spending the day at my home away from home:  the dentist.  Today he's installing a dental implant.  I'm promised a full hour in the chair of horrors.  (Sigh.)

That's it for me this week.  For more design walls visit:

Sending whiffs of nitrous for you to breathe as the procedure moves forward. Do you need a Xanax :)

Aww, bless your heart. I hate that chair, too. I only go if I have a tooth break or something -- keep them as scrupulously clean as I can, here at home! Hope all will go smoothly.
Love that cute wallhanging!

Wishing you a pleasant experience at the dentist.
You have some wonderful projects in the works. Love the little leaf block in it's fall colors.

What a neat cat block! I didn't even realize it was cats at first. Beautiful pattern! Your redwork is so neat. Good luck at the dentist!

Beautiful cats, leaf, Christmas fun, and embroidery. You are having a lot of fun over there. Hope it makes up for the dentist's visit...

I love the cat block. I have seen this several times and since I love doing snails trails blocks I think I would love to make that quilt (especially since we have been overtaken by cats lately). And your wall hanging is beautiful, I love it. The dentist...not so much.

I HATE dentists offices. I have a car ($$) in my mouth. I got it just before I got married. Now I don't go unless I break a tooth or it's painful. I know I should, but, I just don't want to go thru that again. Good luck.
