Foto Finish--Things that are Slow

For this week's Foto Finish theme, we're looking at Things that are Slow.  Here's my entry:

It's one of our famous Oregon monster slugs.  Entire books have been written about our slugs, including recipes.  One of my favorite recipes was one for "sluggos rancheros."  I've also seen other suggestions for ways to use Oregon slugs, for example, as a garnish for your iced tea.  Wouldn't that be appetizing hung from the side of your glass?  One way to know you're from the Pacific Northwest is if you have a tee shirt that says, "200 Billion Slugs Can't Be Wrong."

Okay, enough.  Are you grossed out?  Let's see, now.  Where was I?  Oh yes.  Next week's topic.  How about

Now I'm ready to see your slow things.  Here's Mr. Linky:

oh...I don't mind watching them or reading about them, but they're not my cup of tea or in my cup at all!

I've never heard of them before, so it's good to learn something new. Now I'll see if I can come up with something slow...

I've heard about the Oregon slugs, but never seen one up close and personal. Your photo works just fine for that. Do you have them in your garden? I can't remember if they are a gardeners friend or enemy.

Oh good, you found a banana slug! Our native slugs are a bit scarce lately, compared to the evil invasive brown and black ones.

Interesting factoid: Banana slugs only eat already dead plant matter. The nasty brown and black ones are the ones that eat our gardens to slimy nubbins.

So just how big are these giants? We have lots of slugs here, but they are just the common gross ones.
