Doll Quilt

Some of you are involved in swaps, and I've been envious of all the little squishies you get in the mail.  This month, I signed up for a couple of swaps, including a doll quilt swap.  I got my partner's name yesterday, and I got started on my doll quilt right away.  I got this pattern free from the internet, but there were a couple of mistakes in it so I'm not going to link to it.  If you're dying to have it, email me, and I'll send you a corrected copy.  This quilt is about 18 x 12 inches, which is nice because a fat quarter is just about the right amount of fabric for the back.

I'm using this striped fabric, cut on the bias, for the binding.  I've never made a bias-cut binding before, so I'll be learning something new.  I'm planning to quilt it with a straight-line grid.

This was really kind of a fun project.  You can make a whole quilt, small though it is, in a couple of hours.  It's a great way to use scraps and learn a new technique.

It’s really cute, Barb. The stripe fabric will complement the quilt quite well I think, too. This size is my absolute favorite-in fact, I may have to bring the machine inside to the kitchen table and throw down some stitches myself this week; thanks for insoiration.
