One More Week to Enter my Blogiversary Giveaway

There is just one week left to enter my One Year Blogiversary Giveaway.  But don't enter here.  Enter here.

Our weather turned somewhat summery for the day.  I took the opportunity to weed the vegetable garden.  While I understand that many of you are in the middle of a scorching heat wave, our weather has been unseasonably cold and wet.  Following the second wettest spring on record (14.39 inches of rain), we in Portland are hungry for some sunshine.  The forecast is for showers tomorrow, and then more seasonably warm temperatures.  As for the garden, the moisture has contributed to the regrowth of that pesky grass we killed off earlier in the spring.  It's very hard to eradicate it.  Give me some nice broad leaf weeds, and I'll pull them up.  The grass is a different story.  As much as I hate the thought of spraying now that the vegetables are in, it might be necessary to control the grass.  On a positive note, some things are starting to take off.  This morning, I noticed flowers on the tomatoes--a very good sign.

The past three days have been busy.  I went to the dentist on Monday, which turned out to be a non-event.  They did a CT scan of my head--presumably, something to do with the implant.  The films indicated two moths flying around where most people keep their brains.

Then, to make up for the trip to the dentist, I treated myself to a pedicure yesterday.  Today I had to run a bunch of errands--and nothing fun, I might add.  Tomorrow, however, I'll be able to get back to sewing.

I got a bee in my bonnet to try to finish my new "Dave's Not Here" quilt project by August 20th, when we will meet up with the quilt's recipient.  My long-arm quilter has indicated she can get it quilted in time if I can get it to her by August 1st.  That shouldn't be a problem.  It's going together fast because it lends itself well to chain piecing.  I have almost all the components put together now, and so I should be able to start sewing the blocks together no later than next week.  It's nice to be working on something different after working on the same group of quilts for over a year.

How's your week going?

You are funny, lol.
I need to get to my dentist, had to cancel and still haven't made a new one. My week is hot, just muddling through and getting what I can done.

In the high 90s here the last few days, but at least it cools off in the evening.
I have the borders cut out for my kitty quilt & have decided to join in on the skill builder QAL at Sewn.
So, so far, so good. :D

Gorgeous weather here for kids playing outside on swings, and trikes in and out of breezy shade. Mid-70’s, truly, no complaints.
