Foto Finish--Something Old

Today's Foto Finish theme is:  "Something Old"

Here's my entry:

When some friends purchased ten acres of property near the Oregon coast, they had to clear away acres of blackberry vines.  In the process, they discovered this long abandoned truck.  It had been there for so long that a tree was growing through the bed.  This truck has been a favorite subject over the years during our visits to their place.  The rusted red sides on the bed have a wonderful texture.  When green vines grow over it, the color combination is irresistable.  When flowers grow beside its red wheels, it makes photo magic.  I made a photo book for them as a housewarming gift when they put a manufactured home on the property and started living there.  Sadly, all the best images of this truck seem to be lost.  I can't find them among my image files, but they are preserved in the gift book I gave them.

In keeping with this June collection of themes.  Next week's Foto Finish theme will be:

Something New

Now I want to see your "Something Old" images.  I learned how to make the thumbnails show up after contacting the folks at Mr. Linky.  It was, not surprisingly, operator error.  With that in mind, here you go:

The colours are fabulous in your photo - love the blue of the cab against the red rust of the back of the truck.

I agree with Maree, the blue against the red is a great conrast. I like the lighting as well. I hope your friends really liked the photo book.

I love old things! Especially things made of metal and wood!

I love old trucks! We've even owned a few, used for snow plowing.

Wish we had something that neat buried under OUR blackberries!

I would love to see the photo book you made of this truck! It is a great subject.

My 'something old' is older than your truck though.....
