Quilt University

I started my first class in Quilt University.  This first class is called "Home Building."  I'm going to make a quilt from this image of a stone house I saw while traveling in Italy.

My assignment was to choose fabrics and make a grid noting which fabrics would be used where.  Here's what I came up with.

Some of the swatches are too small to really tell what they will look like when I make the quilt, but at least I know what I'm going to use.  Putting it into practice might be a whole different story.

I'm kind of excited about this now that I've moved past the thinking stage.  I'm hoping it turns out in the end.  It'll be my first try at something like this, so wish me luck!

It sounds so cool. Very neat. One thing I know for sure is that when it is done, it will be very satisfying and you will be proud of yourself for doing it. Good luck! Don't forget to post a picture of it on your blog.

wow, that looks really interesting... when I first saw the picture I thought it was in the Pyrenees...it reminded me of home! It's the same style of housing though.
I'll look forward to see this quilt!
