I had some finishes and some starts this week. I finished my "If You Snooze You Lose" quilt.
I made this quilt from a kit called "Cat Nap" while we were traveling. I'm just now getting around to quilting and binding it. This is a small quilt . . . about 10 x 15 inches.
I completed the 9th of 13 blocks for my "Checkerboard Flowers" block of the month. I have two more blocks in my possession, and one left to receive from the quilt shop where I'm getting it. Then this one will be ready for quilting and binding.
I finished my baby quilt, and that will go to its recipient tomorrow--her mother at least. The actual recipient is still under construction.
Finally, I started the my little Italian house quilt for my Quilt University class. I'm not very happy with how it's turning out. I think my fabrics are too literal and too bright. I'm going to have to do a lot of fancy thread work in order to get it to look the way I envision it . . . if that's even possible at this point. I still have a ways to go on this one.
I'm discouraged by it, and so I'm only working on it for about an hour at a time. I still need to add the fence on the left side and the landscaping isn't anywhere near complete. Here's the picture I'm working from so you can see what I still need to do.

Barb, my personal opinion (and buddy I know every one has one...) the cottage piece looks really good. My favorite part is the stonework on the cottage itself. Really well done.
Your little Snooze You Lose quilt is adorable!! And I really like your flower block. What a great idea to pink the edges of the applique pieces.
I really like your cottage piece. Remember, this is a learning piece - that is why you are taking a class. I think it looks wonderful so far!
Ohhh I really like the cottage - you're doing great. Most of my "art" pieces come from photos and I love translating them - editing out the elements I want and adding ones that aren't there - you can really take a lot of freedom with that kind of creating! I would suggest that next time you might want to try working with more solid looking fabrics if you think its getting too literal - than you can add detail with your thread work! Still I think its quite nice!!
All wonderful projects but I especially like the cottage. It is turning out fabulous.
The cat is so cute! I like your cottage quilt, it's very cute too.
I love the sunflower, it reallhy looks like summer. As for your cottage, if this is your first pictorial quilt, you are doing a great job. It is not easy to try to blend and balance with fabric and I believe, for most people, there is a steep learning curve. What you have so far is great.
o...I think I'm in LUV! with "snooze you lose"! Where did you say you got the pattern? or is it your design?
