Thank you, Amy's Creative Side, for hosting the Bloggers' Quilt Festival. This is my entry:
I call this quilt "Tiptoe Through the Tulips," and it's one of my most recent finishes. The purple and gold tulip fabric was the second fabric I added when I started building my stash about two years ago. This quilt contains 92 pieced tulip blocks and 17 borders. It's the first and only quilt I've made that contains a center panel. This quilt was made for my guest room bed.
Here is a close-up of the pieced tulips blocks and the tulip fabric border:
Here is the pieced back made from a matching panel I found on sale at a later date.
The quilting was done by my long-arm quilter, Tammi, of Creatively Adorned. I think she did a beautiful job on it, and she chose the most beautiful variegated thread with all the same colors contained in the quilt.
Also, I made matching pillowcases using a pattern I found on the internet. The tulips in the pillowcase are paper pieced.
I found the pattern for the quilt in Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting magazine from March/April, 2010, when it was featured on the cover.
Thanks for looking! I hope you like my quilt. To see more quilts from the Bloggers' Quilt Festival, go to Amy's Creative Side or click on the button above.

Beautiful! Your quilt is one of the best use of a center panel that I have seen for quite awhile :)

Gorgeous! You did a great job with your colour & fabric selection.
What a pretty quilt. I love this idea and your tulips are lovely on the quilt and the paper pieced ones. Love the colors. Thanks for sharing and have a great day
I love the quilting with the variegated thread. Great quilt.
This is wonderful. There is so much work in piecing those tulips. Love the colors and the quilting. Great to see the matching pillow cases, too!
Love the colors. Aren't serendipitous moments wonderful when you find the exact right fabric for the backing, the perfect thread for the quilting! Ahhh yes.
I like yours much better than the one on the magazine cover. Lovely colours...and 17 borders! Amazing.
This is so pretty (all of it, the backing and quilting, too) and I love the name.
I so love purple. What a wonderful colorful quilt.
