Hey!!  This is my 250th post!!  If I was at home, I'd have a giveaway.  You'll have to wait until April 1st, when I really AM having a giveaway to reintroduce Fun Fact Friday Freebie.  I wonder how many posts I'll have by then.

I can't believe how much sewing I've managed to get done even though we're not at home.  Had I known I would be doing this much sewing, I'd have brought more to work on.

I finished the quilt I was making for our friends, Larry and Tracy.  They call their home the "Dancing Frog Ranch," and so I chose this pattern with frogs.  Larry is on home dialysis, and he has trouble regulating his body temperature during and after his treatments.  I thought this lap quilt would help keep him warm (in more ways than one).  This is what the pattern told me to do:

but I wanted a larger quilt, and so I added two borders to it.

I like it so much better with the extra two borders.  And here's a close-up of one of the frogs:

I like the way the green of the frog and the blue of the background sort of blend together to give the appearance that the frog is under water.  I still have to quilt and bind it, but I'll worry about that when we get back home.  I'm going to free motion quilt it--probably echo quilt around the frogs and then stitch in the ditch on the rest of it.  I might try to do something fancy in the border, but I'll need to think about it.

Then, when I finished that, I got to work on the next stitchery for my Kitten's Tale block of the month.  I finished the stitchery, but it still needs some pinwheels and rail fence blocks framing it.  I'll probably finish that next week if we don't spend the whole time on the road.

It's difficult to see in this picture, but the brown square next to the word "family" says "happy."  In other words, the name of the block:  "Happy Family."  So cute.  I like the patches on the right-most kitten and the mama cat's body.  I love how she's holding a kitten in her mouth.  (I was supposed to reverse those appliques, but didn't.  So they're actually placed backwards.  You won't tell, will you?  I didn't think so.)

The frog quilt turned out great! I like it with both borders too. Very, very cute! Glad you are getting more done than you thought. That's always more fun then the other.

Congrats on post #250!

I like your take on the frog quilt better - the extra borders really set it off.

Nice job on the kitties too! They don't look backwards to me.... ;^)
