Foto Finish--Big

This week's Foto Finish theme is "Big."  Here is my entry:

This was taken on Schafer Canyon Road in Canyonlands National Park, Utah, USA.  We rented a Jeep for the day (which was some of the best money we've ever spent).  It's very difficult to see Canyonlands without driving out on some of the roads in a 4-wheel drive vehicle.  This was definitely worth the time, money and trouble.  Canyonlands remains one of our favorites of the national parks.

If you look kind of in the middle of the picture on the left, you can see the dirt road we traveled to get to the spot where we shot this image.  There is a little point that sticks out where we pulled over.  I still get a chuckle thinking of Mike standing there and shouting "I AM A GOD!!!"  These places are so immense and humbling that it's hard not to get carried away.

This image is a section of a panorama that now hangs in our living room.  It never fails to impress when people see it for the first time.  If you ever get a chance to make this drive, don't miss it.

Now I'd like to see your "Big" images.  Please link to your post (not your blog) and let us see them.  If you're not a blogger and you have your images stored on one of the image sharing sites like Webshots, please feel free to leave a comment with a link to the image you'd like to show us.

Next week's Foto Finish theme will be:  "Leaves."

They are so beautiful right now.  Please get out and enjoy them, and then share your images with us next week.

I used to live just a couple of hours west of there in Colorado and I really miss that area.
I was lucky enough to own my own Jeep at the time, but renting one in the four corners region is a great way to explore.
