Electric Meter Spinning Backwards!

We've had our wind turbine up and running for about five days now.  We haven't had a lot of wind--not like the gale we usually have going up here.  But today was more of an average day for wind.  Average wind speed aloft (where the turbine is) was 14+mph.  It's enough to spin our electric meter backwards, meaning we're putting more electricity onto the grid than we're using.  It's what we were hoping for when we built the darned thing, and it's actually happening!

You would think it would be ugly to look at; but there's something about harnessing the power of nature to one's benefit that is just so cool.  The inspector will be up here tomorrow to issue the final permit, and then the project will officially be complete.  We feel so fortunate to have had this opportunity.  There are some great incentives in our area right now, and we will still get some tax credits in the coming year.  I'm so glad we decided to jump in.
