Tater Patch Quilts is the shop I was trying to find when I ended up at Quilting Sisters. It's only about an hour away. I was confused because it's actually in Merrill, Oregon--not Klamath Falls.
I tried to go there while on a previous visit to see my son. Klamath Falls celebrates the
Winter Wings Festival in February each year. If you've never seen a Bald Eagle, it's a wonderful place to go to see one. I got this shot while we were there:
Isn't he (she?) a handsome fellow? After we left the bird sanctuary, we stopped in to Tater Patch Quilts just as they were closing. (Sigh.) That was back in February, and we haven't gotten back until now--in July. My son had gone there to get me a Christmas gift and he promised me I'd love it. He was right. It's a huge store--two floors--with fabric for everyone. They had a nice supply of flannels too if you're into making baby quilts. There was something for everyone. Beautiful batiks, calicos, landscape fabrics, and a ton of great rulers and other notions. I was able to pick up a bottle of some "stuff" that supposedly will help keep my metallic threads from breaking when I'm doing machine embroidery. Haven't tried it yet, and so I don't know if it works or not. I'll tell you when I do.
I ended up getting a nice cotton fabric with wheat on it:
kind of a landscape print that I haven't seen before. I don't know what I'll do with it, but it just caught my eye, you know? The two women working there were very helpful and so the customer service was good. I remembered to take a picture of it, but I think I must have deleted it. So sorry.
I can recommend this quilt shop. It was a lot of fun browsing. I could have spent a lot more time, but my husband was waiting in the car. I have to preserve that part of my outings so that he'll continue to cart me around when we're traveling. He usually naps though, and so it's never been a problem up to now. He doesn't even know I'm gone.
