February NewFO Link Up and Giveaway

A whole month has passed again already.  How's your Leap Day going?  And how did you do with your February NewFO Challenge?  I started a couple of new projects.  My original plan was to start this stadium quilt for Erik and Mae to take with them to the Oregon State football games this fall:

This one is about half way finished now.  My goal is to have it finished by September.  The other new project I started this month was this doll quilt for my friend's granddaughter, Irish.  I still need to put some shamrock appliques on this, and then this little top will be finished.

But finishing isn't the point of this challenge.  The point is to have fun and to start something new!  My goal is to finish these sometime this year, and maybe I will . . . probably I will.  But I don't have to and neither do you!

For this month's giveaway, I reached into my bag of pins and pulled out this little hand made log cabin pin:

If you'd like to win this little memento of your incomplete projects, all you have to do is link up some time during the next week and show us your February NewFO projects.  No finishes required.  If you have a blog, please write up a blog post and link to your post (not to your blog).  If you don't have a blog, feel free to link to an image in your FlickR album, or some other photosharing site.  Please link only to the one image you want us to see (not to your whole album).  And if you're having trouble, just email your image to me and I'll link it for you.  Edited to note that if you're having trouble linking up, your pop-up blocker might be to blame.  Change your settings to always allow pop-ups from this blog, and it might solve your problem.  Or not.  It's worth a try.  And if it doesn't work, send your image and URL to me, and I'll be happy link it for you.

I'll leave the linky party open for one week.  Then, I'll draw a winner at random and notify you on this blog and via email.  Make sure you leave a valid email address somewhere.  If you are linking to your blog, make sure I can get your email that way.  If you're linking from your FlickR or other photosharing account, make sure I'm able to contact you that way.  And if neither of those are available, you can leave a comment with your name and email.  If I cannot contact you, you cannot win.

So, here are all the unfinished projects for February:

Can't get the linky to work so here is the link - http://www.flickr.com/photos/51802232@N04/6937976839/in/photostream.
These aren't quilts but they are dolls and there are 28 of them, but I need to make 40!!
I am also working on a secret quilt for my sister so no photos until I have given it to her in May.

The Oregon State quilt looks great as does the doll quilt.

Thanks for the challenge, it helped me get my mojo back. Hopefully I can hang on to it for a while.

You can tell I was full of procrastination in Feb, I started quite a few things :) That usually happens when I'm avoiding doing something that I should. But hey, I had fun and I did finally finish the thing I was avoiding. But this is all about the good feeling when you start something new - love it.

Thanks for taking the blame for my new projects...kidding...but it does take a little pressure off when I can say to the hubs that I have a motivator to start new projects. I started 2 new quilts this month: Farmers Wife & a Sampler.

I really like your little Irish chain quilt! Love the colors in the stadium quilt too! It's been a slow month for me NewFO-wise, but I did manage to crank out one little flimsy which was one of the things on my NewFO list, inspired by something unusual, as well as a couple other little things are in the works currently as well. This month flew by!

Beautiful projects!

I managed to start 3 projects, but only finished 2 of them. Two out of three is not bad at all.

Good thing it was a short month or I would have bust the stash to nothing! I had a fun month and look forward to the long March. Now to peek in on everyone.

Thanks Barbara for a great inspiration to get started again! I have joined you in the 15 minute challenge to get back to my sewing room, and have made the connection to quilt with my friends on Thursdays! So I will even have a new photo to share on the Flicker site after tonight! Let the stitching begin! (loved your post giving George the credit for keeping you on task! Aren't they great companions?! Thanks again for the inspiration...it has been over a year since I have been in my sewing room! So nice to be back! Happy March!
Aloha, Andrea

Once again I got to my NewFOs before (or I should say, instead of) my UFOs! But it was for a good cause and always good fun!

I was almost finished with this project on Thursday when I left for a long weekend. I'm determined to keep up with at least one NewFO a month!
