I havent read a novel for a while. I like to read historical fiction. The girl who played go is an interesting read. Its about a young chinese girl and a young japanese soldier during jaoans invasion of china.

Barbara, you influenced me to buy "Vintage Tin". No gear heads in this family so who knows why I bought it. Perhaps it's the memories of driving Route 66 when we moved or other old 2 lane highways as a child. Being an Army brat there were many miles traveled on the old roads with views such as on this quilt.

I just read "An Utterly Impartial History of Britain" which was quite entertaining, if not overly informative! I'm now reading "Escape" which is the story of how a young woman escapes the FLDS.
My little girls are crazy for polka dots! They would love anything made out of these fabrics.

The book was a pain to read and I was disappointed with the ending do hope the films better!

Just read the Silence of Mockingbirds by Karen Spears Zacharias. Not a fun read (about a child who died of abuse) but a really important read to remember to protect those who can't protect themselves.

I recently read Lissett's List by Susan Vreeland - excellent.
Books I have enjoyed - Street Boys by Lorenzo Carcaterra - also by him Gangsters - another author Nancy E. Turner - These is My Words & Sarah's Quilt..
In choosing a book it has to interest me in the first page or so - there are too many to choose from to stick with one you feel like your forcing yourself to read...
