July NewFO Challenge and Giveaway

Holy Moly. Here it is the end of July, and I'm going to say it's getting dangerously close to Christmas. It's been a busy, busy, busy month here at the Three Cats Ranch. And as you're reading this I'm on my way to Tacoma for the 2014 Association of Pacific West Quilters Symposium. My newest talent is free-motion-being-two-places-at-once (FMBTPAO to you). And given I have this extraordinary new talent, I'm here today to say that we'll be playing for the red and blue Shoo Fly lapel pin today:

All you have to do is link up below with your new projects from July, finished or not.

With everything that's going on around here this month, I have just one NewFO to show, and it's a finish. I know...it's not exactly in keeping with the rules, but my party, my rules, right? Still, don't let my finish deter you because you can link anything you want in whatever stage of "done" it is. Here's what I have for the month. This is my "Lady Liberty" doll quilt, which is winging its way toward my partner in Australia right now. I made this for the July monthly doll quilt swap.

 Doll Quilters

So far, I've only shown peeks of this quilt, and so this counts as the big reveal too. (I really hope my partner isn't reading right now.) Theme for the July swap was "On My Bucket List". Since seeing the Statue of Liberty is near the top of my bucket list, I decided the New York Beauty block was the way to go.

Here's how it looks from the back:

So that's it from me this month. And now I'm ready to see your new stuff. Here are my simple and friendly guidelines:

1.  Please link-up with your newly started projects from July, finished or not.  If you feel like it, show us the progress you've made on any other previously posted NewFO projects.

2.  Please link back to this post from your blog.  Also, please link to your blog post, not your blog.  Links to entire blogs will be edited.  Links provided for the sole purpose of promoting other events or shopping experiences will be deleted without apology. Please do not link to your Etsy shops or other giveaways and/or promotions you have going on your own blog. To be clear, it is okay to link to other events, but I want to see your NewFO's as a part of your post.

3.  Don't have a blog?  Upload an image to this FlickR group and link to that.  If you have questions about how to do that or about how to link up, please email me.  If you're having trouble posting your image, email it as an attachment, and I will be happy to post it for you.  Please know that it takes a bit for your thumbnail to appear, so don't despair.  It will appear eventually.  You might need to "refresh".

4.  Obviously, I need some way to contact you no matter how you link up.  No email address and no other way to contact you equals no entry in the giveaway.  Email me separately if you need to.

I'll leave this linky party open until one minute before midnight on Wednesday, August 6, 2014. Winner of the Shoo Fly lapel pin will be announced on Thursday, August 7, 2014!  We will ship anywhere in the known Universe, so everyone is welcome!

Lady Liberty is funderful! Very nice points too. I have a New York Beauty style block pattern that makes into cats, but haven't ever even taken it out of the package yet (and it is YEARS old!). One of these days....

I'm just waiting for permission to use a particular photo for my blog, then I'll get it posted. :D

It won't let me link up, Barb. Not sure why, but it keeps giving me an error message. Sad face.

Hello Barbara,

Nice to be back, after missing the June NewFO because the computer was in Computer Hospital.

Lovely cheerful doll quilt, and nice quilting too. Do you want to link up with my weekly linky for FMQ, Free Motion Mavericks? It's early days yet, and it would be great to see you there!

Love, Muv

MR. Linkey will not let me add a picture so I cannot join the party! What is going on!

This is my first time posting here, so wanted to say hi. Also I love your quilts. The colour on the New York Beauty is really happy and summery, and I think pairing the Collage fabric with your liberty prints gives a really cool look.
