Today's optional Foto Finish theme is "Green". Here's my entry:
This is a cane on a rose bush, taken at the home of some friends who live out toward the Oregon coast in Seaside, Oregon. I love the way the red thorns contrast with the green of the cane. It's as if they are sounding a warning: "Don't touch!"
For next week's theme, I'm going with something for spring. How about "Flowers". I'm in need of some color after the snow that has fallen around here.
Now I'm ready for your green images. Here's Mr. Linky:

The first thing I thought of when I saw your picture was the red was such a great warning. I used to teach that to my class "don't touch anything red in nature". Your picture is great, I love the contrast in the colors.
Beautiful shot. I have a hard time getting myself to photograph anything other than the roses when presented with the opportunity to photograph that flower. It's one of my favorites.
Oh, those thorns scream warning! What a beautiful shot! Hope you have a beautiful weekend! Hugs
Love the photo but we have some rose bushes that do serious damage!!
I love the contrast in colours too.
love your pic ;-) just last weekend we trimmed our rose bushes and they did some serious scratching too ;-)
What fun photos. Your photo with the thorns is excellent.
