It would have looked weird to me, too, with all white faces! <br /><br />About the yo-yo's - they shouldn't make it hard to piece the quilt together. Just make sure the yo-yo's are on the top side while you're sewing the seam. I think it would be more of a pain to stitch them on through the whole-quilt bulk than to piece with them on.
