Christmas Quilt Show 2010

I only learned to quilt about 2 1/2 years ago, and so I haven't made many Christmas quilts.  I did make a stocking for my DIL a few years ago, but my entry here is my first official Christmas quilt.  It's a wallhanging/tablerunner (whichever she wants) for my neighbor.  It came from the December, 2010, issue of Quilter's World magazine.

It's the first time I've tried "embellishing" a quilt.  On this one, the tree is made from Angelina fibers, which I've never used before.

And the snowflakes were embellished with hot fix crystals, another new technique.  It was all a little intimidating, but I'm happy with the result.  I haven't yet given it to my neighbor, but soon.

Now, if you'd like to see the other quilts in the Christmas Quilt Show, hop on over to SewCalGal's blog and check it out.  Enter your own quilt and get entered in the giveaways.  Have fun, and thanks for stopping by.

Very pretty; blue strikes me as a great color this time of year--too much red-green-gold already.
